I was just up and at 'em, Saturday. Spent Friday evening at a friend's house - talking and watching a movie.
And then Saturday morning... MAN oh MAN!! I put a second coat of stain on four cabinet doors and a drawer, cleaned my kitchen, took down my Christmas decorations.... I know, VERY ambitious of me, shoveled the ashes out of the fireplace, and then vacuumed out the rest... I was never diagnosed OCD, either.
What else did I do? Oh - BROKE a beautiful vase that I had put Christmas lights in.
Cleaned up the broken vase.
Two loads of laundry. Washed, dried, folded, put away.
All before 12:30.
With one good hand and a prop hand.
I bet you forgot THAT, didn't ya? Doesn't even have two good hands...

Question and Answer
First, I'd really like to know: why do some people put asterisks in some words when they are writing in their blogs? I don't get it and I'm very curious. Am I committing a really large blog mistake by NOT doing that? oh - and while we're at it - one other question: how do you do that typing thing where you can put a line through the word you really wanted to say? I feel I could be so much more clever if I only knew how to do that.
And - though no one asked me so it's not REALLY a answer:
You know how on a lot of websites you have to type in a word or two or letters that could maybe be a word? And they (don't know who they are) claim it is for security? well - it's actually part of some document that they (again, they are faceless and nameless) are wanting to convert from scan to text online. So, instead of paying someone to type it in for them, word by word they have US do it...
clever?
cheap?
subVERsive? (just like the word)
and - it IS very tricky for me to type with a pathetic left hand - but I am a machine...

The Movie Critic
I'm not usually a movie promoter or critic, but I saw a movie recently that I really enjoyed and thought I'd pass on.
It's called Facing Ali.
I know, right? Seriously? Boxing?
But, it's interviews of almost all the guys who faced Ali - hence the title...
it was touching, funny, sad, sweet...
Some of those old guys had really REALLY rough lives. Actually, most of them. As a matter of fact, that's one of the things one of them mentioned - guys who were successful or had a lot going for them didn't get into the boxing ring - these were the guys who NEEDED a chance.
So, if you want to watch a movie with your "man" that will surprise him and you will enjoy too... here's a thought.
Seriously - WHY am I not married?!?
p.s.... one of the guys has pretty bad language - but he's at least 65, so it isn't AS offensive. And George Foreman tells how he found the Lord... (I'm trying to help you with the great balancing act - between offensive and redeeming)
I've also discovered a great way to pass my time in solitary -I mean, work... listening to movies on youtube. This morning I listened to Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, and now I'm listening to Return to Me. I LOVE it. Yesterday, the entire soundtrack to Les Miserables... on headphones, of course.
